How does the custom plastic case manufacturing process work?

Here at Hofbauer, we’ll create your virtually indestructible custom plastic case using the following steps: 

1. Manufacturing

Choose from our extensive range of standard cases & we’ll design a bespoke foam insert to suit your intended application.

Choose a model from our Megabag, Multibag or Quantum range – we can design & mould the interior to suit your products. Using an existing outer case shell design halves the mould cost. The process is known as extrusion blow moulding, here, pellets are heated into molten plastic and blown into the shape of the mould – the result of this process is a durable, and secure encasement fully equipped to protect your belongings.

# Alternatively, a new mould can be made to produce a bespoke case to your specific size, shape & colour…

Most of our Hofbauer cases are made from super tough Polypropylene (PP), which is durable and scratch-resistant, yet lightweight for easy handling.

Thermodyne cases are made from durable, lightweight High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), there are over 450 standard sizes – If one of these doesn’t suit a new mould can be made to produce a bespoke case to your specific size, shape & colour.

2. Add bespoke foam inserts to your plastic custom cases

In addition to your hard-shell case, we can supply it with a bespoke foam insert to perfectly hold any delicate apparatus. A foam interior prevents individual parts from moving, which can result in them hitting and scratching against one another.

Your foam insert will be manufactured using the product drawings and dimensions you supply to ensure we create accurate sections for your equipment to securely sit.

We also produce foam inserts for our entire offering including our range of Peli™ cases.

3. Complete your order with branding options

Depending on your needs, you can opt for your company logo branding to make your case truly unique and bespoke. Companies and businesses tend to utilise this to enhance their professional appearance and advertise their brand.

Customers can choose between screen printing, labelling, and moulded ID company branding options, in a selection of colours.
